Our Ewes
We own a small flock of registered Finnsheep. Finnsheep are known as an affectionate breed of sheep used by spinners for wool. They also can be used for milk and meat. Our flock is dedicated to wool production and great temperament. Some of the matriarchs of our flock are amazing animals and have grown to be very special to us! Addie is one. She is one of the original sheep we had here, and she is a sweet and loving ewe who is always ready for some scratches and cuddles. We adore her, and even though her days of raising her own young ones are over, she will remain an important part of the flock here in the days ahead. Our breeding ewes are bred each year to focus on the breed standard, which our daughter Erin enjoys studying and is happy to talk about. We care for and love our sheep. We breed our ewes in the Fall and sell adorable and friendly lambs in the Summer. We select a few of our own lambs to retain each year in order to keep improving our flock. Our ewes are quite friendly, are great mothers, and have beautiful fleeces.

Olde Haven 093 "Millie"
Birthdate: March 7, 2020
Color: Black HST
We bought Millie, our first ewe, as a pet in April 2020. Since then, she has delivered beautiful, healthy, and rambunctious lambs with no difficulty. Millie is too smart for her own good! She can tell when we plan to shear her or something else she doesn't like. She refuses to take worm medicine, but thankfully, she has a good immune system. Millie also holds grudges. Her long and fluffy black fleece has started to give more of a frosted look on the top area.

Color: Solid White
Addie is one of the first ewes we bought and bred. She has the friendliest, calm, and quiet personality which she has thrown into her offspring along with excellent conformation, beautiful fleeces, and wonderful prolificacy, making them some of the most valuable lambs born here! Addie has delivered beautiful sets of triplets and one set of quadruplets for us. She always has a nice large udder every year no matter how many lambs she delivers. Addie has a dense, tight, and crimpy white fleece. She was born at Stillmeadow Farm and may be retiring within the next few years. Addie will spend the rest of her days at Fox Farm enjoying a peaceful life. She is very special to us!

Laurel is one of the first three ewes that we traded for. She delivered a set of triplets in 2021, and since then she has had quintuplets in both 2022 and 2023, and triplets again in 2024! Laurel likes attention. She also has a beautiful, evenly crimped, and dense brown fleece. After delivering lambs for most her life, Laurel is ready for retirement.

Fox Farm 001 "Primrose"
Birthdate: April 16, 2021
Color: Solid White
Primrose was born from Addie in the Spring of 2021. She has the best personality of any of our ewes. She hugs people when given attention! Primrose is among our best mothers, with wonderful maternal instincts and a big, well-formed udder. She is our largest ewe. She is tall and has a long body, which allows her to raise large litters of lambs! Primrose has a 500% lambing average, with 5 lambs each year! She has a beautiful white fleece with tight crimping throughout. Primrose is the first lamb ever born on Fox Farm, so she is extra special!

Olde Haven 167 "Emmi"
Birthdate: March 11, 2021
Color: Brown HST

Emmi came as a bottle baby in 2021. She has been such a sweet ewe and always comes to get attention. She is high in the pecking order, behind Laurel, who is first. Emmi's fleece is light brown, which isn't the most common color of brown. With her loosely crimped and long brown wool, she has one of the fastest-growing fleeces of any of our ewes.

3H Hedge Hog Hill Farm 118 "Ivy"
Birthdate: May 18, 2022
Color: Black Badgerface Piebald

We bought Ivy in 2022 for her piebald coloring. She came from a farm in MA. Ivy likes attention as long as you aren't trying to give her medicine or put her in a photo. This girl can hold a grudge. Ivy is a wonderful mother. She doesn't ever need help with her lambs, who are always quick and motivated soon after birth. Ivy comes from milking lines in her genetics. Her udder is well formed, and she has nice long and large teats. Ivy has a beautiful, well-crimped, and dense light silver fleece with piebald coloring on her belly.

Fox Farm 014 "Hazel"
Birthdate: April 11, 2023
Color: Black Badgerface HST

Hazel was born out of Addie here on Fox Farm in 2023. Much like her sister, Primrose, Hazel is extremely friendly and will paw at whoever she wants attention from. She has stunning grey and dark grey coloring throughout her beautifully crimped fleece! Hazel has become one of our favorite ewes not only because of her personality, but also because of her fleece, coloring, and desired genetics.

Almost Finish'ed 21 "Daisy"
Birthdate: March 12, 2023
Color: Black Piebald

Daisy was bought from a farm in VT in 2023. She has stunning dalmatian spots hiding in her white patches! Daisy has a very friendly personality and always comes over for attention. Her fleece is nicely crimped and spotted with black and white mixes. Daisy has grown into a big girl, almost the size of Primrose and Addie! Daisy will be bred to piebald rams for more spotted lambs and lovely genetics.

Woolly Rooster 00-07 "Rosie"
Birthdate: February 18, 2023
Color: Black HST

Rosie came from another farm in Maine in 2023. We were quite impressed with her long, well-crimped, and extremely dense fleece! Rosie is a big ewe, allowing her to have multiple lambs. Though we bought her for her wool, we discovered she also has an amazing udder. Not only does Rosie have exceptional udder capacity, she also has teats that are almost the size of our cow's teats! Rosie's lambs are likely to inherit her wonderful milking potential as well.
Lambing Record:

Cronin 0010 "Dahlia"
Birthdate: March 27, 2023
Color: Brown HST

We came across Dahlia in 2023. She came from another farm in Maine. Dahlia has one of the sweetest personalities in our flock. She is also very calm and quiet. Dahlia is a part of the group of ewes that come over for attention the second anyone enters the pen. Dahlia has a very dense, long fleece similar to Rosie. She will be bred to brown rams for more brown genetics, and hopefully her lambs inherit her wonderful personality!
Lambing Record:
2025 - 3

Fox Farm 023 "Rue"
Birthdate: April 8, 2024
Color: Black Reverse Badgerface HST

Rue was born on our farm as a tiny quintuplet from Primrose as a nice surprise! We were not expecting a reverse badger, as that pattern is rare and new in the Finnsheep world, and neither her sire nor her dam have reverse badgers in their lineage. They do, however, have lots of badgers in their genetics. Rue is a stunning, calm, and quiet ewe. Her fleece is long and beautifully crimped all over. We always look forward to her shearings. Rue is growing into a beautiful, well-sized, and overall excellent-quality ewe just like her mother. We hope Rue delivers many more reverse badgers to Fox Farm!

Fox Farm 025 "Clara"
Birthdate: April 8, 2024
Color: Black HST

Clara is another beautiful ewe from Primrose. She is a quintuplet ewe with a stunning, tightly crimped fleece! Clara has a sweet personality from her dam, sprinkled with a little spunkiness from her sire. She always comes over for massages and petting, and she loves it. Clara has shown that she loves worm medicine more than any other sheep on our farm. She will follow us around begging for it, which makes it easy to deworm her when needed. Clara is growing into a well-sized ewe just like her mother. She has excellent confirmation from both her dam and sire.

Fox Farm 024 "Aowyn"
Birthdate: April 8, 2024
Color: Solid White

Aowyn is one of Primrose's many sweet and beautiful lambs. She has a wonderful fleece like Clara from the combination of her sire's and dam's beautiful fleece genetics. Aowyn carries the brown gene from her sire, and we hope she and her sisters will have some brown lambs in the future. Aowyn has beautiful brown pigmentation all over the skin on her legs and head, which is desired on white sheep. Aowyn is calm and quiet, much like her mother, and she is just as sweet as her sisters. Aowyn should be a nice-sized ewe like her dam, Primrose.

Fox Farm 026 "Penny"
Birthdate: April 8, 2024
Color: Black HST

Penny was the second quintuplet lamb born from Primrose. Being close to a solid black ewe, we hope Penny might deliver solid black lambs, as we do not own any solid black sheep. Penny has a wonderful personality. She is super calm and gentle and also loves attention. Penny will wag her little tail constantly while being rubbed and petted. This girl butters us right up! Penny's fleece is long, well-crimped, and dense like her sister's fleeces. Just like all her sisters, she should mature into a well-sized ewe. Penny also shows excellent confirmation from her dam and sire. We hope Penny and her sisters bring more stunning, sweet lambs to this farm!

Ross 37, "Olive"
Birthdate: April 9, 2024
Color: Solid Brown

We bought Olive from a farm in ME as we were looking to add a young solid brown ewe to our flock.
She has a sweet, calm, and submissive personality and always comes to us for attention. She is a favorite of visitors, as she loves people. Olive likes to put her leg on people who visit, and sometimes jump too. Olive is a sibling to Faramir and half half-sibling to Juniper. She had a petite build but might be turning that around as she grows into a nice ewe.

Ross 34 "Juniper"
Birthdate: April 2, 2024
Color: Solid White

We bought Juniper along with Olive from the same farm. They have the same sire. We hope to breed Juniper with a handsome ram here to form a new genetic lineage, unrelated to some other lines we already have. Juniper is a friendly girl who likes to get scratches and pets, but won't always push through the crowd to get it. Juniper is an exceptionally large ewe, standing taller than even some of our largest ewes.

Cronin 0025 "Zinnia"
Birthdate: March 24, 2024
Color: Brown Badgerface HST

Zinnia came from the same farm that we got Dahlia from. We were looking for a brown badgerface colored ewe to add to our flock, and Zinnia is such a sweetheart. This petite girl follows us around for attention whenever we come in the pen and is actually one of the most friendly sheep we have here. Nothing phases her. She isn't afraid of strangers either, which makes her an instant favorite for visitors!
